[windows] version 5.1.3 for tests on windows available

More one goal for the team. Congratulations.

I downloaded the 7-zip file (a good choice) and decompressed the Salome 5.1.3 for windows in my user directory (the path has space). I did not compiled it for my machine (regular intel core / intel graphics processor / windows vista business editon 32 bit). Is it correct?

I can launch the GUI directly from "salome.bat" and build some simple examples in the geometry module. But... when I try to make a simple pipe construction (using "Extrusion along a path") the program stops and I receive a message that Salome_session_server.exe stops. The same problem happens in the previous version for windows.

The Linux version works very well at home.

The path without space is only required if you want to compile salome ...

A first analyse shows the code fails somewhere in cascade when destroying the BRepFill_Sweep object created at line 483 of BRepFill_Pipe.cxx ... Unfortunately, I have not enough time to check that in details for the moment ! If a cascade specialist can give an idea ...

Could you try your extrusion with this version of TKernel.dll :

http://files.salome-platform.org/cea/adam/salomewindows/download/Salome5.1.3_ForTestsOnWindows_release_patches/extrusion_along_a_path/TKernel.dll

To use it, copy the file into products\cascade-6.3sp8\win32\bin

If it works, it will add this information on errata page.

Thank you for your solution. Excuse me for the long time to answer.

I put the new TKernel.dll as you pointed. Now I can extrude a face (from a simple circle) a long a path (an extruded wire : segment and arc).

But if I try to do the same with a face (from two circles, as a section of a pipe) or a disk, the Salome_session_server stops again.

It is an evolution!

I'm testing 1.5.3 version, the first thing which I noticed is some errors in command window indicating that salome can't find something. I attach screenshot.

I ‘v successfully build debug version of Salome v5.1.3 on Windows but I didn’t find the options to use MPI.

Is it possible to compile Salome v5.1.3 for Windows to use MPI?

If you're monitoring this thread, the http://files.salome-platform.org/cea/adam/salomewindows/download site doesn't seem to be responding to http traffic, even though I can both ping and ftp (but with no user to logon) to files.salome.org.

I have started to use the windows version just for testing and noticed this issue:

Module Geometry

I can't select geometric entities, for example to know the coordinates of a vertex, or to explode some subshapes from a solid. The preview works ok: it means that when I go with the pointer over the entity, it is highlighted correctly, but when I click on it to select it, the selection does not work and nothing is passed to dialog window.

I'm on Windows XP HE SP3, graphic board Nvidia Quadro Fx3450.

I tried to follow the instruction to build it, but "launch_vs.bat" refers to "Project.sln", but this solution file doesn't exist. Did I miss anything?

You need to run launch_cmake before launch_vs. Regards, E.A.
