surface to solid conversion

Posted by Rishi at May 25. 2011

Hi All,

I have a .igs file that I have imported into salome-meca. The imported geometry has come as a surface model (instead of solid rectangular plate). Can someone please advice how I can fill out the hollow section between the two surfaces, so that I get a solid geometry?

Thanks in advance,

Rishi

Hi

If the imported geometry includes no SHELL (check this in Measures > What Is dialog), then you have to create a shell from the imported faces (New Entity > Build > Shell). Then New Entity > Build > Solid from a shell.

If a shell is not water-tight (Measures > Check free boundaries) use Repair > Sewing to heal it.

If your model consists of one solid there should not be any problem.
