Very long Salome starting time

Posted by Jan Stransky at February 10. 2011

Hello,

On Ubuntu 10.10 (64bit) I used Universal binaries. I have only one, but quite annoying problem.. to start Salome, it takes more than 6 minutes..

jan@janpc:~/Download/Salome/Salome-V5_1_5_64bit$ ./runSalome

ROOT_SALOME: /home/jan/Download/Salome/Salome-V5_1_5_64bit/SALOME5/V5_1_5

Loading environnement for python 2.4

CHECK /home/jan

Searching for free port for the SALOME Naming Service: 2810 - Ok

runSalome running on janpc

Searching for a free port for naming service: 2810 - OK

Searching Naming Service + found in 0.1 seconds

Searching /Containers/janpc/FactoryServerPy in Naming Service +SALOME_ResourcesCatalog_Handler::ProcessMachine : !!! Warning !!! No Name found use Hostname for resource: localhost

+============== import SuperVisionTest =======================

found in 1.0 seconds

Searching /Kernel/Session in Naming Service   found in 0.0 seconds

Start SALOME, elapsed time : 379.9 seconds

additional external python interpreters:  0

99% of the time it spends between these lines:

Searching for a free port for naming service: 2810 - OK

Searching Naming Service + found in 0.1 seconds

I tried to modify my /etc/hosts in several ways, but without any improvement..

Do you have any suggestion what could be the reason and how to fix it?

Thanks in advance

Jan
