removing all 1D and 2D elements

Posted by sergey p at May 09. 2015

Hello,

I have a question (reading this part of help http://docs.salome-platform.org/latest/gui/SMESH/selection_filter_library_page.html )

When we use Netgen 1D-2D-3D for arbitrary model - we get shell, beam and body elements

What is the best filter to remove all beams and shells at ones? All of filters are very specialized, it is hard to select one, which is good for my problem

Regards

Serge

Hello,

I propose a way which avoid the use of filters:

1- Select the mesh, go to Mesh > Create Group. Select Face as Element Type, let the Group Type as Standalone group and activate the Select All option.

2- Click on Apply, then change the Element Type to Edge, then click on Apply and Close.

3- In the study tree, find the created groups, right-click on them and select Delete Groups with Contents.

Hope this helps,

Best regards,

William
