extrusion along a path with a twisting angle

Posted by pierre_j at August 21. 2012

Hi,

Please, I would like some help.

Basically, I would like to be able to extrude along a straight path a rectangular shape, but with a twisting angle from 0 to 90° in order to get a twisted beam.

I couldn't find a command allowing this, so I ended up creating each edge separately, then constructing faces, then the final solid.

However, I am stuck to creating faces corresponding to the sides of the twisted beam.

Considering the enclosed geometry (4 edges) I don't succeed to get a ~plane~ surface using the command Build => Face.

Obviously, I cannot check "try to create a planar surface" because the surface is not plane (it is twisted).

I tried, and Salome tells me it cannot work.

I thank you in advance.

Bests,

Pierre

Here is the weird surface I obtain.

Hi,

Solved by changing the way to create the edges: "Interpolation" instead of  "Polyline".
