Installation Salome 6.4.0 on Ubunto 12.04
I just compiled salome under Ubuntu 12.04 (Debian 6.0, 64 bit) - worked but after running Salome it hang up with following terminal output: Xlib: extension "GX" missing on display ":0"
Hello,
As Ubuntu 12.04 has just been released, Salome 6.4.0 was not tested on this platform.
However, it was successfully compiled and tested on Debian Sid, sothe problem must come from a specific Ubuntu trick.
I'll try to test it next week.

I've solved this problem - was caused by the NVIDIA graphics driver - after deleting of the driver, Salome 6.4.0 is running
How you managed to remove NVIDIA ? If you remove NVIDIA you
can not use UNITY ?
I'am currently useing Salome_mexa 2012 but it gives SIGSEV time to time,...
Dear Gilles,
Could you kindly send a mail and explain how I can install Salome 6.4 on my Ubuntu 12.4 (Wubi). I tried many different tricks and still not working! (my mail: jafar.mahmoudi@gmail.com. Thanks in advance
Jafar
Hello Jafar,
I can tell you in this thread : i just install the universal binaries by executing the .run file.
I didn't test the other installers (Install wizards).
I didn't try to compile on Ubuntu 12.04 yet, but I can try (it's quite a long process since all the prerequisites are compiled).
Gilles
