Interesting libraries from Sandia (under the LGPL)
-
Hello;
Sandia (US gov. lab) has it's own set of CAD/FEA toolkits and has been releasing components of it to the public. Here are some interesting links:
CGM - The Common Geometry Toolkit
http://cubit.sandia.gov/cgm.html
Verdict - Mesh verification library
http://cubit.sandia.gov/verdict.html
MOAB - a Mesh Oriented Database
From what I've read CGM would be interesting to add support for ProE and ACIS formats, and Verdict would be very useful to cuantitatively determine the quality of the meshes, among other things.

I missed Mesquite, which looks very interesting too:
http://www.cs.sandia.gov/optimization/knupp/Mesquite.html
"MESQUITE is a linkable software library that applies a variety of node-movement algorithms to improve the quality and/or adapt a given mesh."
