Salome crashes after running geom mesh or post module

Posted by Krzysztof ┼╗urawski at March 19. 2010

Hi,

I installed ubuntu 9.10 (32 bit) on my old laptop equipped with Ati Radeon x600 card. After Running salome-meca2009.1 I've noticed a problem regarding refreshing of the viewport. My first guess was a missing driver and 3d accelerator. I googled for it and found fglrx driver. I went to synaptic and installed the following:

xorg-driver-fglrx-dev 2:8.660-0ubuntu4
fglrx-kernel-source 2:8.660-0ubuntu4
xorg-driver-fglrx 2:8.660-0ubuntu4
fglrx-amdcccle 2:8.660-0ubuntu4

After restart ubuntu worked fine, but salome after turning on geometry, mesh or post modules crushes returning in terminal:

>>> SALOME_Session_Server: ../../src/xcb_io.c:542: _XRead: Assertion `dpy->xcb->reply_data != ((void *)0)' failed.

I checked if the problem was due to this installation (basically I uninstalled the mentioned packages). After that salome worked fine, but the problem with refreshing returned.
Anybody has x600 and the 'driver - salome problem'?

I did nothing except installing the packages, maybe I must configure it in some way? Turn something on, or so?

Please help.
