Cannot find salome kernel after install

Posted by hades king at July 12. 2012

Hi ,

I am new to ubuntu linux and salome. I have installed my salome in directory /home/salome 6.4.0.

However, after installation, I cannot find salome's KERNEL_6.4.0 directory. I can only find salome_appli_6.4.0 under my home/user/ directory. It seems that I cannot use source salome.sh in kernel directory to configure my salome. So where is the kernel directory in my case?

I can launch  salome interface but errors come out when I hit the buttons.

Thank you.

Best regards

Hi,

In salome_appli_6.4.0, just run:

./runAppli

Hello,

Installation has been done with

Universal binaries for Linux:Salome 7.4.0

with ubuntu 14.04.

It works fine with runAppli when using the GUI.

I want to read script on the batch mod with the GUI. I have generated python scripts. But when I try to run them, it fails to :

"import salome"

I saw that it may be necessary to source the 'salome.sh'  which should be in the Kernel folder.

I am not able to locate the Kernel folder or this salome.sh file.

Do I have to install the complete stuff ( ubunutu 14.04 not supported yet) ? I  try it and find the kernel folder but several errors occur, I am not eve able to run salome with gui.

Thank You,
