| | The DATA Module | The DATA module allows to parameterize the physical properties related to numerical simulation computation.
Here we call the 'physical properties' - a set of data other than geometry, meshing or resulting fields that are necessary for numerical simulation.
This set contains, among others:
- Material properties (conductivity, Young modulus, viscosity, efficient section, etc.)
- Boundary conditions
- Initial conditions
Because it is difficult to define in one step and for each computation software a unique data model that describes all the physical properties related to a simulation, the DATA component supports the definition of a data model fitted for a particular domain, lying on - preferably - an existing model.
Thus this data model is designed from a meta-model which comes from the studies carried out by LEG and EDF on that topic. This provides the way for a GUI which can be dynamically customized according to the data model and meta-model used.
Therefore, the main functions supported by this component are:
- Assign properties on geometrical items (volume, surface, curve, point)
- Edit these properties
- Add new properties to the data model
