Please note that SALOME is not certified on some of these OS. See the Salome Release Notes for a full list of prerequisites that are valid for SALOME 3.2.6 version.

It is a maintenance release that contains the results of planned major and minor improvements and bug fixes with reference to SALOME version 2.2.2 released at the beginning of year 2005. The most important new features and improvements included in this release are: - New and completely redesigned GUI framework proposes modern look and feel, clear and safe GUI programming model, multi-desktop approach, tabulated viewers and dockable windows concepts;
- Dump Python functionality allows to save SALOME study as a Python script that can later be executed in SALOME;
- Support of polygonal/polyhedral mesh elements and quadratic meshes both in SMESH and VISU;
- Improved ergonomic of meshing GUI;
- New viewer of fields in gauss points. This feature uses advanced features of modern graphic cards;
- Ability to make light SALOME modules (without CORBA);
- Redesigned documentation;
- And many other features.
Salome 3.2.1. introduces many new features and bug corrections over the previous public version (2.2.2). | 1/18/2006 - SALOME v2.2.8 | This new stable release includes major CEA-EDF contributions and important issues from SALOME 2 RNTL project and is compliant with Redhat 8.0, Redhat 9.0, Mandrake 10.1 and Debian Sarge distribution.
This version is upgraded on more recent versions of software requirements for SALOME (gcc, vtk…)
An important effort was done to make the application more robust. This versions includes many debugs from the previous version 2.2.2. |

| 5/12/2005 - SALOME v2.2.2 | This new stable release includes major CEA-EDF contributions and important issues from SALOME 2 RNTL project and is compliant with Redhat 8.0, Redhat 9.0 and Debian Sarge distribution.
- GEOM:
- Update of building by blocks functionalities (building of mesh, gluing of solids, building of groups, removing of useless internal edges and gluing of tangent edges)
- MED:
- Full support of MED v2.2.0 as well as 2.1.6
- MESH:
- Quality controls improvement (aspect ratio 3D, borders and multi-connections, edge length and new presentation modes)
- The IJK mesher now supports a face meshed by triangles by building a prismatic mesh
- Generation of 'pipe' mesh along a geometrical curve
- Support of pattern mapping on mesh elements
- SALOME:
- Improvement of memory management (KERNEL, GEOM, SMESH)

| 1/7/2005 - SALOME v2.1.0 | This new release is now available for download from the site.
Changes in pre-requisites:
- Open CASCADE technology v5.2 plus a couple of specific patches.
- med v2.2. SMESH, VISU & MED modules are able to read med v2.1 & med v2.2 format. SMESH module can write both formats too, whilst MED module can only write med v2.1
In addition, GEOM and SMESH modules have been improved especially in the construction and checking functions. |

This version contains a lot of improvements of the SUPERVISOR module and an additionnal DATA module that handles physical properties on a mesh. |
