Salome shuts down when Windows goes to sleep

Posted by Maz Mahzari at October 17. 2018

Hi Everyone,

Recently I started using Salome to develop a finite element model and have a few questions about using Salome:

-The first one is when Salome is running and I put my Windows to sleep, after the restart Salome is automatically shut down and I have to start it again (and obviously my changes are lost). I use a Dell Latitude E7270 with Windows 7 on it. Has anyone had the same problem with Salome? If yes, any solution?

-The second question is about reading a python script into Salome. What I'm after is to set a few commands in my script to:

1-clear the existing contents of Salome environment (something like a new button from the start menu)

2-Goes into a module (Geometry or Mesh for example)

3-Set some graphical properties such as viewpoint, view direction, view setting, node numbering etc.

Basically, this is to speed up the iterations of reading the script while developing it. Any idea if this is possible in a python script?

Many thanks in advance,

Maz
